How do I make a leaning TC?

sharonmd

Question

Decades ago, I made a darling cap that was made with TC's that leaned. Of course, after 35 years, my pattern is long gone as is the cap (no telling where it disappeared to). Does anyone know how to make DC's or TC's lean to the left (or right)? I can't figure it out. I'd love to make a similar cap.

I think you want an X stitch, like this?  Would work for trebles as well

You can make the top stitch lean left or right, by working the second stitch in front or behind the last stitch you made.  The above shows you making the crossed stitch over.  If you make it under, the stitch before the second one becomes the more apparent cross direction.
