Hello from Chicago

I have been hanging out at Ravelry, but I decided to finally start posting here on Crochetville. Currently sitting here working on a lovely warm scarf and other things before our lovely Illinois winters set in.

Learned to crochet when I was just a wee dot of five from my grandma, but then put the hook down and didn't get back with the art until about a year and a half ago. Been slowly churning out projects ever since.

 

My goal for next year is to work with lots and lots of fingering-weight and lace yarns. I have some of that yarn now and some patterns, but no time until next year. Too many projects for the holidays on my hooks! Where I grew up in the boonies, folks pretty much made afghans, dresses for chest-of-drawers dolls, and not much else. I ddn't even KNOW these yarns really existed until I started back up.
