RecycleCindy Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) The Warmth for Warriors organization is again calling for anyone to help crochet, knit, or sew mini handmade Christmas stockings for the troops. Here is the link to the 2015 Stocking Drive. Last year over 1600 miniature stockings filled with soaps, toiletries, and candies were sent overseas to our troops as a little Christmas gifts. I just crocheted this stocking and am working on more. I try and do some during the summer and more in the fall and winter months. This is my 4th year participating in the drive. You can use any materials or patterns to make the stockings and just try and make them about 6 inches long. I will post more of my crocheted stockings as soon as I get some photos taken. Please jump in if you'd like to help out the project. Thanks! Edited June 1, 2015 by RecycleCindy

RecycleCindy Posted June 2, 2015 Thanks everyone and so glad to hear from people who want to help. Here is a photo of the green Christmas socks I've got done so far. These are mostly crocheted with some vintage emerald colored red heart yarn I had on hand. I use this crochet pattern and have adapted it a bit to fit into the 6 inch length. Let me know if you have any questions.
RecycleCindy Posted June 7, 2015 One more batch of mini Christmas stockings for the troops. I used an old vintage skein of burgundy yarn I had brought at Kmart. Still had the price tag of $1.17 for a 4 oz skein of sport weight yarn. Oh those were the days!
RecycleCindy Posted June 29, 2015 I finished up these 4 mini Christmas stockings today. I am shipping off 12 stockings tomorrow to the Warmth for Warriors 2015 drive. Is anyone else working on stockings? We'd love to have more help... hint hint...

RecycleCindy Posted October 18, 2015 Here are 65 mini Christmas stockings I received in the mail yesterday. They are from my dear on-line friend Claudia aka "Delights". Many are in team colors and the troops are going to just love these. Reminder: The deadline for stockings this year is November 1. There is still time if anyone out there has time to help out the Warmth for Warriors 2015 stocking drive for our troops.
