Would like help with Wavy Ripple Blanket pattern

myemerald

Question

I started the Wavy Ripple Blanket pattern, found on Yarnspirations.  The pattern is written a little differently than I am used to, but I think my big question is how many sc should I end up with on every other row.  I start with 139 chain, but the first row is a dc in the 4th chain from hook.  Then there are a lot of skipped stitches, and 2 stitches in 1 stitch, I just want to be sure I am ending up with the correct number when the row is all sc.  That will be the way I can check to be sure the wavy pattern turns out the way it's supposed to...I think.

Thank you in advance for your help!

count the tops of the stitches in the first row.  I beleive there will be 137---the turning chain there counts as a stitch.

2 ch are used by the turning chain, and that leaves 137 chain.  there should be an increase for every decrease so skipped ch are compensated for by multiple sts into a ch.

would have been nice if the pattern had given you the st counts!
