Border advice?

Hi there! I'm making a baby blanket for a little girl named Rhia with the alligator/crocodile stitch. I want a border to go with it, but I have no idea what would be a good fit- especially because the blanket itself is about 1/2" thick. Any suggestions to finish up this project? Thanks!

My personal favorite border is the shell stitch.  Make 1 sc, skip one stitch, make 5 dc in next stitch, continue along each side, making 7 dc in each corner.  I do the border in a contrasting color.

That could work! The blanket itself is green, and I bought white for the border! Thanks for the advice!

Sometimes you have to adjust the stitches when you get to a corner.  I usually either skip a stitch between, or add some--according to which way you need to adjust it!
