Need help with Vanna Pattern Please?

tiniree

Question

In the book: Vanna's Afghans A to Z, on page 113 is a pattern called: Vanna's Choice.  I want a size in between the adult & baby sizes shown.  But I can't figure out the multiple to resize it.

Can anyone help with this?

The st ch is 291. Dc into 4th ch of hook and into each dc across for twelve rows.

Then there is a Mesh band row: Ch5 for first dc and ch 2, sk 2dc, dc in next dc, *ch 2, sk2 dc, dc in next dc, rep from * across, turn.

Oh, hi, I answered this in your other thread, but you gave more info here.  I had suggested just chaining a few more inches than you wanted, and pick out the extra chains, but that won't work for this pattern.

If you are working in DC, you always chain 2 more than the number of DCs you want to end up with across the row.  The turning chain is 3, you DC into the 4th chain from the hook, which creates a 'real' DC plus a turning chain DC, so 2 are DCs created over the first 4 chains--2 more chains than stitches.

The red numbers add up the repeat:

Chain: 2

sk 2dc : 2

dc in next dc 1

*ch 2, sk2 dc 2

dc in next dc, rep from * across, turn. 1

So the pattern repeat is 6, plus 2 for the initial chain.
