Half double stitch appearance looks like single crochet?

Lillycrochets

Question

I've just learned the half double crochet stitch. I have been doing it and I just realized that the bottom half of my project looks correct, but the top (the most recent) looks like a single stitch. I know for sure I haven't changed anything. If you look on the other side, the correct stitch is on the top and incorrect on the bottom. What's going on??

To post a pic, you have to upload a picture file from your computer.  At the bottom of the post is more reply options, click that and at the bottom you will see 'attach files'.  Click 'choose file', select the picture file from your computer, then click 'attach this file'.

The only things that occurs to me is that your tension might have gotten different somehow (this happens sometimes), or something similar to my habit of being forgetful while extended DC'ing and omitting the extra yo and start plain DC'ing...
