I am sooooooooooo excited because I just found out that I will be meeting Brad Paisley on Sept. 26!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)h

:woohoo

I have had concert tickets for months, but I didn't want to get my hopes up on meeting him until I got official notification. Well, it came today! YAHOO!!!!!!!!! :clap

Now I have to come up with something special to give Brad. A lot of people give him food and stuff, but I'm thinking he can get his own candy. haha. I'd like to give him something special, something I made just for him. He loves to fish, so I was thinking of making him a little bouquet of fishies for his tourbus. If you look at the crochet album in my sig line, you'll see examples of these fishies.

What do you all think?? Any ideas are welcome! I am so excited right now, I'm not even thinking straight!!!!!!!!!!!! :cloud9

Hello everyone!!

Well, the votes are in and my decision has been made! hee hee. I'm going to make Brad a scarf - out of fisherman's wool of course! - with little fishies on it! :) Now I have to go to the store and find out if they have any fisherman's wool. The stores near me are terrible about stocking stuff that isn't really mainstream. But by making a scarf, I should have enough time to search for the yarn and make it before the concert.

hehe, that's OK for those of you who had to look up who Brad is. :) None of my friends know who he is either. They just know him as "that country boy you like." :) I'll be sure to tell him everyone said hi and that this is a group gift. Afterall, there were so many people involved in the decision!! hehe.

Tshell, I'll be sure to send him your love (your's too, Pam!) Country doesn't come up here that often either (I'm in Boston) but it does more than in NYC. But I'm actually driving like an hour and a half/two hours to get to him. I'm so glad I have an understanding husband who is willing to drive and take photos of Brad while I drool. haha!!

Have an amazing time at the concert!!!

Hello everyone!

Well, yesterday was my Brad Paisley concert! :) I decided to make him a scarf and one fishie to hang up somewhere. :)

We got to Indian Ranch (where the concert was) about two hours before the show and I got my pass. It was very cool just to wear it. hee hee. :rollin Brad's set was about an hour and a half and was just awesome. He did most of his hits and some others. It was terrific. :D After the show, we went to the backstage area where the line went REALLY quickly. I was so nervous. :blush When I got up there, I handed my camera to Brad's manager and went up to Brad.

Here's how the conversation went...

Brad: hi there!

Me (practically whispering because I'm an idiot!): hi.

(handing the scarf and fishie to him) I made this for

you. :blush

Brad: (because I was too quiet) You made this just for

me? :)

Me: Yes.

Brad: Thank you very much. Why, you're very talented.

At this point, a normal person would have replied,

gee, thanks. Or even, "why so are you!" But I have never been normal...

:rofl

Me: I crocheted it.

Brad (smiling): Well, thank you. What's your name?

Me: (lucky I remembered it at all) Danielle

Brad: It's nice to meet you (signing my photo)

Me: It's nice to meet you too.

Then he handed me my photo and put his arm around me for the photo. But I reached up to hug him. :o See, in my head, I asked him for a hug, I forgot to say it. :) He laughed and hugged me. :D Then he kept his arm around me and we posed for the picture. He thanked me, I thanked him about 10 times and then I took my camera from the manager and walked away. I feel stupid that all I really got out was "I made this for you." :o

We took over 100 photos during the show and after. Most of them are here on my Yahoo photos page. Just click on Brad 2004. You'll see the photos from the show, after the show and what I made Brad.

Thanks to everyone who sent ideas about what to make Brad. I was the only person I saw who gave him anything, nevermind something handmade. He seemed really happy with it. :)

Thats awesome! Going to drool over your photos now.

We were going to try at catch him at the Bloomsburg fair in PA on Sat, but we just decided not to go. I think it was pretty far from my mom.

(on a side note, I saw a MA native Friday night in PA.... JO DEE MESSINA! my hubby gave me tickets for my birthday... it was at Jim Thorpe and I went with my mom since she lives pretty near there and hubby doesn't like country. I forgot my darn camera, we were in the 4th row!!! It was amazing.)

Thank you, everyone!! :) It's so nice to mention Brad and have people respond and know who he is and want to see the pictures! My friends are good about it, but I have to go into a huge explanation at work whenever I mention it. I haven't even put the photo up yet because I don't want to explain who the guy is that I am hugging who is not my husband. hahaha.

I'm glad you all liked the scarf!!! I was afraid it wasn't perfect, but that made it all the more special, I suppose!

Pam... you lucky girl! I wish I could have seen Toby when he was here in Mass. earlier this summer. I missed the first show because I had to go out of state and then I missed the one at the NFL kickoff because they neglected to mention until that day that he was performing in the parking lot for free!! If I had had time to plan, I so would have been there!!! :)
