breeze530 Posted September 1, 2014 My all-time favorite book series is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Outlander is now a great new mini-series on Starz. In the 4th episode Claire wears 2 different lovely knitted capelets. 1 was just a little bit bigger than a cowl and the other was somewhat longer. But they both looked like they were knit by hand with a rough wool yarn. BTW, the author made a cameo appearance in this episode and even had a line or 2 of dialogue. Love it! kelvweb Posted September 26, 2014 I love that show! I saw an interview where the actress who plays Claire said they employ knitters in Scotland where they film the show.

kelvweb Posted September 29, 2014 The costume designer, Terry Dresbach, has her own blog with forums for discussion. It would be wonderful to see some crochet in the next 8 episodes.

Thanks so much for posting this. I noticed that the yarn looked less polished than most yarns used today. It is great that they decided to use handmade items.
