Light & Lacy Baby Blanket

This is a simple, light pattern you can make with your scrap balls of yarn! It's nearing September but it's still a tad bit warm out so this lacy blanket should work perfect for your little one!

Hook Size: 5.00mm

Gauge: 1 pattern repeat = 3"

Finished Size: 27" x 32"

Skill: Beginner/Intermediate

 

ch 100

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch and in every ch across to the end

 

Row 2: ch 3, 1 dc in next 4 sc, *sk 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, ch 2, sk 4 sc, 1 dc in next 5 sc, repeat from * to end. End the repeat with 4 dc in the last 3 sc (this means you'll be putting 2 dc in the last sc to achieve an ending with 4 dc.)

 

Row 3: ch 3, 1 dc in next 3 dc, * sk ch2sp, 5 dc in 1st dc of the shell, ch 2, 1 dc in next 5 dc, repeat from * across ending repeat at 1 dc in last 3 sts

 

Repeat row 3 to desired length.

 

Color layout: 5 rows of each color, green, pink then cream

 

Border: sc all the way around making enough on all sides divisible by 4 + 3 (add up one side, subtract 3 then divide by 4)

Begin 1st st to left of corner st

 

Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 3, sk 1 sc, [sc in next 3 sc, ch 3, skip 1 sc] to 1 st before the corner st, sc in next st, 3 sc in corner st, sc in next sc * repeat around, omitting last sc, join with sc to 1st sc

Rnd 2: ch 1, sc in each sc and ch-3sp around, placing 3 sc in each corner, join with sl st

Rnd 3: ch 1, sc in same st, *[sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc] to corner st, 3 sc in corner st, sc in next sc, ch 3, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc repeat from * around, omitting last sc, join with sl st to 1st sc

Rnd 4: ch 1, sc in each sc and ch 3 sp around, placing 3 sc in each corner st, join with sl st to first sc
