Help! Need to identify stitch!

Caroline Elizabeth Albrectsen

Question

I'm not a very experienced crocheter, but I like to throw myself into challenging projects. I recently saw this picture of a crochet dress and I've started making my own version of it. But I'm having trouble identifying the stitch thats marked in the picture. If you know what it is please let me know, or if you know of a similar stitch which is just as open as this one, that would be great! Thank you so much! :))

it's a version of spider or spiderweb stitch.  the spiderweb is chains done on successive rows, which are then caught up by an sc to gather them.  in this case i think you have a column of the spiderweb and a column of probably shell stitches.  something like the yoke of this http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pull-408-t3-427  altho I think that has a picot on top of the gathering sc

and welcome to the ville :hook
