Just finished!

I haven't made this one for twenty years and forgot how big it comes out.  My cousin's wife commissioned me to make a few doilies for her.  One for Christmas so I edged it with green and red to give it a subtle Christmas feel.  I think this one turned out too big for her preference so I may keep it myself.  I've already started another different Christmas pattern I just purchased off Etsy.

 

I swapped out the stitches in parts to more detailed stitches like Patricia Kristoffersen might put in her patterns for a deeper raised look.  I'm sure if she was updating the pattern she would have even better ideas to enhance.. but I am trying to learn to go off on my own a little..

 

It's like when a cook can learn to go off of a recipe and adjust I guess!

Beautiful! I call it thinking outside the box. Some designers/authors don't appreciate you changing their designs. I did that and gave credit to the designer for the part of her design that I used and pointed out the rest was my creation! Keep it up because creativity is important!!

Stunning doily.  You do great work.  I could really see this in a shawl.  Of course, I think that about every gorgeous doily I see.
