Lizbeth Thread Holder

Has anyone used the Lizbeth thread holder?  I'm really looking for a way to keep the thread from twisting when it feeds off the ball.  I have a holder that the ball sort of dangles off of a hook, but it always tangles on the hook.  

 

Maybe I need to enlist DH to make something with a dowel.......

I've wondered about the Lizbeth thread holder as well.  It looks kind of small, though.  I tend to use the bigger balls and cones of thread for my lace work.  Hubby did use a toilet paper roller on a wooden stand for me to use with my big balls of thread and it works very well.
