Funny thing is that I thought birds sat on their eggs for long periods of time but one year( around this time of year), a bird made a nest in my hanging planter on my front porch. I couldn't bring myself to remove the nest. In time it had hatched 5 eggs. The bird was off the eggs for a good amount of time, each day. I wan't sure these eggs would hatch but yes, they did, and I have amazing photos of the adorable babies. They were soooo cute! Never could figure out the bird. The eggs were blue with brown specks.
