Lacy bird

Just before Easter on one czech blog I saw a bird. I fell in love with the bird at the first sight... The lady who made it wrote she didn't have the pattern and she made it just looking at the picture. Unfortunatelly, she didn't say where was the photo from and who was the original author.

 

What could I do? I sat with my hook and thread and started to make my own bird, just staring at the picture. It looked complicated but at last the third bird was as I wanted. 

 

So here it is - delicate, lacy bird. One bird in 3 photos

Oh my goodness. I am still in awe of the thread owl and now you have come up with this bird. You are so talented to be able to figure out how to make these without a pattern. I can see this one done in a beautiful blue.

I found out that the original pattern comes from a book "LACEWORK TO EMMY GRANDE"

That is so beautiful!!  My first look I saw an owl, then I looked for the beak and saw the bird.  So, either way, they are very impressive.
