Lap blanket pattern

My mom made one of these lap blankets for everyone in our family before she passed away. I'd like to continue the tradition but we can't find the pattern she used. It is a 36 x 62 lap blanket. It might be an 'offset cluster' stitch with multiples of 4 or something similar. Does anyone have or know of where I can get the pattern?

It kind of looks like the Project Linus Box Stitch Carriage Robe pattern, which is a multiple of four and can be made to any length. I've seen it called brick stitch, or crazy stitch, so you could also search for those terms.
