Help! New to crochet - Am I doing this right?

Hello All!

 

I am new to the crochet world and I am currently working on a boot cuffs project. Here are the steps:

 

1. CH 8

2. SC in 2nd CH from hook until end, then CH 2

3. DC in every SC until end, then CH 1

4. SC in every DC until end

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until desired length is reached.

 

I have started these steps, but I am not sure if what I am doing is right. The left and right sides of my work look different. I have attached a picture that shows this.

Looks ok to me.  

 

It's just alternating rows of single and double crochet - pretty easy.

It looks great. Once you ar finished and sew it together, you won't be able to tell the ends look different. When stitching it together, I recommend holding the piece so it is end to end as opposed to having them stacked on one another. It'll give a more seamless look.
