Diana Vreeland's afghan

I just started watching "the Eye has to Travel", a documentary about Diana Vreeland, who was editor of Vogue in the 60s.  She is interviewed in her living room which is kind of layered in patterns and features bright red.  On the sofa is a granny square afghan!  I was kind of surprised to see a humble crocheted afghan in such stylized surroundings.  I'm taking it as a sign that Ms Vreeland considered the granny square a design classic, as do I ;)    You can see it here http://www.theguardian.com/fashion/fashion-blog/2012/sep/21/diane-vreeland-five-things-know  although in the movie it is shown on the back of the sofa.

Googling around for other images, i found this article which features a photo of Twiggy in a crocheted dress http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2186771/She-discovered-Twiggy-advised-Jackie-O-ruled-fashion-long-Anna-Wintour-How-Diana-Vreeland-original-Devil-Wears-Prada.html

(Can you tell I love 60s fashion?  :lol )
