STARTS WITH A ..... SWAP 2014 - Sign Ups CLOSE 01/04/2014 9AM Sharp! Partners Assigned 1/04/2014

Recommended Posts

Actually I just made myself slippers before the cold weather but living in VA I didn't see the need for a scarf... so that is still being worked on.  I am hopeful that the pain and swelling will go down enough from my tooth extraction that I can really work on crochet again.

I'm working on baby stuff for my new great niece and a great nephew that was born at the end of December. Also just finished an outfit for my godson, sent it off today. Busy, busy, busy! But not too busy to be working on my swap.  :woo

Hi ladies :hug

Whew, past couple of weeks have been silly busy, but I am finding a few moments to check in! Things are going well with Kidge's package and I am loving putting it together! It's snowed AGAIN here and I am getting a major case of cabin fever. I can get out, but it's best not to with all the other folks who may not be so great at driving in this stuff so I try to stay home unless necessary!

Kidge, are you feeling any better? I replied to an email a few days back and just want to check in on you!

Apparently, the coldest temps in a LONG time are headed to my area in the next few days. Good thing I have crochet & other crafts to keep me occupied!

Hope you're all having a great weekend! Check in again soon!

Gonna spend as much of my evening as possible watching netflix and working on my partner's goodies.  Anyone have any suggestions for good crocheting movies?

Christie, I think anything you've already seen qualifies as a good crocheting movie ;)

UGH UGH *This* girl is super tired of all the cold white stuff! We received another 5 inches overnight last night... The kids have now missed 9 or 10 days so they're going until the last part of May or even first part of June as it is. I'm over winter! Granted, that means I should have a lot of crochet time, but things haven't worked out that way just yet. :sigh Hopefully I'll get some accomplished today tho since I don't wanna get out in this stuff.

Nasty weather here too.  Got about 6 inches of snow yesterday (a lot for this area) and a nice layer of ice underneath.  No school today so I would be enjoying a nice relaxing day off but I have a sick 3-month-old to care for and the poor little thing is miserable.  :(

Super busy,  I had a tooth removed and returned Monday for a check up to see about an implant only to be informed that I need full removal and dentures, today I had a second opinion and they agreed. nice!!   Then dentist A says it will be 19000. and my insurance will pay 1000.00 .. dentist B says it will be 10000.00 and my insurance will pay 1000.00.  Then Dentist A tells me about a dental plan which would drop it down to 6000.00 so I go to their site which clearly states if you have dental insurance you are not eligible.. GREAT..... One of my husband's co workers said to check out call AD  all teeth extracted for 1600.00 and full set of dentures for 445....hmmm I think yay that doesn't sound right so I look them up on the web for reviews etc .. Yah no so good .. knew there was a reason they were so cheap.   So my week has been horrid to say the least.

So for therapy  I went shopping again for Tiffer and found some neat lil do dads ;)   I feel better already!!

I just looked and found such a beautiful hook?my favorite size hook as well as my favorite. It isn't heavy but feels awsome in my arthritic hand. You even give attention to the proper feel, or placement of your grip. Thank you so much for such a wonderful gift, you truly personalized it. The coffee is yummy as well

My goodies from Kidge arrived just a little bit ago!!! (UPS runs really late in these parts ;)

She included a little note that I would need to guess what these items were and how they begin with the letter 'T'.... I've messaged her my guesses and am anxiously awaiting to see if I am right, or if she was even more tricky with her item selection  :think  :confused

Here's a pic of my lovely package!

post-18684-0-00552300-1393288008_thumb.jpg

Kidge you did wonderfully, as always of course! Thank you so much for my goodies! Oh and not to forget the extra "Tote" pattern the other day! :hug I have enjoyed being paired with you again!

Ok as I was about to post this, she let me know what is what of the item descriptions. If my guess was different I'll put that afterward for you all!

Tumbler (I said Thermal cup)

Tablet of Paper (I said Thought book... doh!)

Therapy gloves

Totally cool pen with peace signs

Twinnings Tea... lots of different flavors to try out!

Twist yarn... have not ever used this so that will be fun to try!

I am so sorry I have been absent and am so late with all of this.  I received my beautiful package from Jan some time ago.  Everything was wonderful and I will be posting pictures this evening.  Also, those of you who know me on Facebook know that things have been a little hectic in my house with the arrival of my newest grandson just a few days ago.  With my daughter contracting constantly for 2 weeks and numerous Labor & Delivery trips during that time, I fell behind and did not get Jan's package out in time.  It will go out in the mail first thing in the morning with my apologies and a special "Sorry your first swap partner was a dud" gift to you!  I can only hope your future swaps are more fun and you have a more communicative and on-time partner.  :)
