Poppies

Did you know that next year marks 100 years since the beginning of World War 1?

 

The UK womans magazine, Woman's Weekly, and The Royal British Legion are marking this event by asking crocheters and knitters from around the World to make and send in handmade poppies which will all be made into wreaths and placed on war memorials.

 

My yarnie network, The Yarn Over Network, are proud to be working with Woman's Weekly on this project. If you would like to be involved, you are either join us on our FB page, https://www.facebook.com/yarnoverntwk or can do it independantly. I have got a knitted and crocheted pattern I am able to distribute as well as an address to send them to. You can also use your own poppy patterns.
