I posted a question on your blog, but don't know if you will see it.  Are you using British terms or American terms? I noticed you mentioned slip stitching into the dc.  I'm confused!

I am using American terms. It just means put a slip stitch in the double crochet of the last round. Hope it it helps.

The first round is sc.  So, on the first round of the flower color, did you mean "sl st in one of the sc to join color" ?  There are no dc on the first round.

I've altered the pattern -

It should say ss into next sc, ch 3, dc in same st, ch 3, ss into same st
