Pattern Help

Hi all...in the very near future I want to make this poncho http://www.yarnspirations.com/pattern/crochet/gift-poncho

 

I'm not good at all with following pattern directions but this one appears fairly easy and I am DYING to make a poncho.  My question is...it looks like you need two different color yarns....do you hold them both together?  or is one for the poncho and the other for the border?

well that's weird, they left that info out of the pattern!  it must be holding 2 strands together since it calls for a K hook.  also it looks kind of tweedy, which is how 2 colors toghether will look.  that's my take on it anyhow ;-)

2 strands held together - they are labeled as contrast A and contrast B beneath the picture.
