I've never made coasters, but was thinking this wood be a good use of leftover yarn.

 

Is cotton yarn the appropriate choice? How well do these work for preventing furniture damage from sweating glasses?

Yes they are my own patterns..I've made so many patterns over the years. if I want to make something usually I come up with it myself--

 

All shown are 100% cotton- it absorbs the sweat...I also make water bottle cozies....my daughter takes bottled water everywhere and it helps the sweaty bottles. Her favorite is a sock monkey water cozie.

Is it hard to use several color for a single coaster? I want to create a coaster that uses several colors but it looks kinda hard.
