Tutorial on how to crochet a freeform rug

I recently finished a freeform crochet rug. It is 36" in diameter and has about 20 different yarn colors. I started this project to use up all of my stash yarn...so, the yarns used include wool, acrylic, etc, The size hook I used was a 3.5mm hook. Tutorial: Crochet 3/4" diameter tubes of varying lengths and colors. Flatten the tubes and then, stitch the tubes together while twisting them in a freeform shape.

i think it is all constructed of the tubes coiled into the different shapes and sewn together.  I can see it when i enlarge the pic, tho it is not visible in the black areas.
