yarn substitution

Looking at the pattern Blue Waters Vest in the Autum 2011 Crochet! magazine anyone have ideas as to what to use instead of Naturally Caron Spa #3 (DK weight acrylic/bamoo rayon yarn?    Thinking about making it, but I'm not partial to Caron brand.

I'm not a fan of Spa either, though i know it's popular. I've used some Bamboo-cotton that is very nice, and slinky like Spa, but not machine wash or dry.
