I made that with Waverly yarn and Bernat pattern.  It worked up beautiful and I didn't find any mistakes in it.

I have tried and can not get the zig zag effect my first row edge is straight, I am not new to crochet but have never done a ripple, whywould my edge be straight

I've not done that specific pattern, but for ripples it takes several rows before the ripple really develops.  Keep at it   It's a really pretty pattern.

I think it is basically the same, from what I can see in the tiny photo in your link. I hate patterns like that....how would I even know if I want to make it, if I can't SEE it?
