How to increase this sleeve? picot?

Question

I'm confused with this crochet pattern, it's for a sleeve but i don't understand how its meant to increase.

Sleeve Pattern:
Row 1: Ch-4 picot, *ch 4, 1 sc in next sp, rep from * ending with ch-4 picot
Row 2: 2 sc in next sp, *ch 4, 1 sc in next sp, rep from * across, turn.
Row 3: Ch3 (first dc), 2 dc in next sp, *ch 1, 3 dc in next ch sp, rep from * across, turn.
Rep rows 1-3 for pattern.

When starting Row 2, it says I have to do 2 sc in the next space... but then when I come back around with row 3, there is one space left because of this and the garment actually gets decreased in width.
Am I meant to do the 2 sc IN the picot??

Hi!  That's something that I generally try to fix in patterns when testing because when written as in the pattern you're working on, it leads you to think that you skip the base of the chain 1.  That's not the case at all.  I'm assuming that when you're finishing the row and turning, that you're chaining 1.  The first of those 2 sc's is supposed to be stitched in the base of the chain 1.

HTH :)
