I Heart Hello Kitty afghan

This was a lot of fun to put together, improvising from several web sources. The wonderful heart pattern is April Moreland's Purple Passion Heart Square (on Ravelry), the kitty motif assembled from two or three web patterns, and the heartlike border from a web pattern. The afghan probably will go to a charity aucction later this year.

 

One thing I'm not happy about is that the eyes and nose are too large, despite the fact that I used a smaller hook for them. Didn't want to buy entire skeins of finer yarn. I may need to fix that before the auction. Ideas, anybody?

The eyes are fine. It is an anime character and they have larger eyes.

Thanks to you all for your nice comments. And now I don't feel so bad about the big eyes. At Hobby Lobby yesterday, I saw for sale some tiny amounts of craft yarn, but alas it was all worsted weight or close to it. Just about my entire stash is worsted weight acrylic.
