rose afghan

Hi,

 

I am working on a afghan from the book called American Afghans Bernat,page 16 style no.2273-211. Problem is round 3.....*.ch 4 1 sc in sc between next 2 petals, repeat from *6 times more,ch4 join. What do i join to? do i join to the ch 4 or the stitch ch 4 is coming out of?( which is a sc.) from round 2).  Round 2  dir. is.....in next ch 2 space work 1sc.4dc.1sc repeat 7 times more,join----8 petals. Here i joined to a sc started with. now I chain 4 and do round 3. If i join to chain ...it doesnt seem right.... tried sc  stitch still not sure.  Help....THX.

 

 

 

Also another question the rose in bloom by coats and clark.  On ehow site has dir. but it does not say anything on join the rounds . Is this right you dont join the rounds for the rose?

i forgot to add. when i do round 3 at the end to join i noticed there would be no sc stitch there.  like i was doing before. sc ch4 sc ch4 . is this ok

have you checked for the pattern on ravelry to see if any corrections have been made to the pattern?  or maybe the bernat site?

yes and there isnt any new dir. or help.  When i do rd.3........ ch4, sc are the chains suppose to go behind or in front of petals?
