Unclear directions

3 posts in this topic

I have been working on a headband. You use two different colored yarns. This is the stripe sequence:

work 9 (12) rows with A, 3 rows with B, 3 rows with A, 3 rows with B, 9 rows with A, 9 rows with B,

9 rows with A, 9 rows with B, 3 rows with A, 3 rows with B, 9 (12) rows with A.

I do not understand what the number in the () is for? Does that mean work 9 rows or 12 rows?

Any help is always appreciated. Thanks, Laurie

Some patterns are written for more than one size.  Throughout the pattern, the first number is for the regular size and the number in parentheses is for the alternate size.  Read the beginning instructions to see if this is the case.
