What would go with a bobble stitch?

I was/am making an afghan using just 5 dc bobble stitches with sc.  Anyone have any ideas on what other stitch(es) would look good with this?

 

Trying to use up a mega box of yarn.

It's the perfect place to post this question.  I wish I could help you.  I am a fairly new crocheter and haven't used a lot of bobbles in my work even though I like the way they look.  I wish you luck on finding an answer.

A classic look would be to add post stitch patterns for an Aran-y look.  Although, these are usually worked in a column pattern-wise and it sounds like you have gotten started working in the other direction. But I could see working a stripe of diamonds every so often.

 

Here's a pattern with some diamonds, and a stripe of bobble hearts would be cool too!

I was actually thinking about doing some fpdc and lfpdc.  I like the way they look along with making the afghan seem thicker.

 

I'm going to try that for a couple of rows and see what it looks like.
