Infinity Scarf: to twist or not to twist?

crochetingmomof4

Question

My niece would like me to teach her to crochet, and her goal is to make an Infinity Scarf. I have not made one before, and I see that some patterns call for a twist, like a Möbius, and others do not. Is there a reason for the twist? If worn doubled, does a scarf made with a twist lay better? :think And if you would like to suggest a pattern that's beautiful and still easy enough for learning, please do! Thank you so much for your help!

That is so cool your niece wants to learn to crochet.

In my opinion, the twist helps the piece to lay nicer when double wrapped. Purely personal preference though.

This pattern for a Infinity Scarf is super-uber easy. However, for a beginner, I would recommend a Cowl to start with for quickness of completion of project, thus, more self satisfaction for a beginner.
