Need Baby Afghan ideas

Recommended Posts

I lost my crochet mojo a while back. I can feel it coming back on and I need some ideas.

I need to get started on my 2013 NICU afghan crocheting. I have made a few hundred of Aggie May's Round Ripple ghan... obviously, I like the pattern!... but I think I need a new pattern to help get me out of my funk.

I"m looking for something quick - that doesn't require lots of concentration - something I can do while I watch tv.

What is your "go-to" quick baby afghan pattern?

My favorite 'go-to' pattern is Marty Miller's Lacy Shells Blankie.

It's corner-to-corner, so you can make it as big or as small as you want. It crochets up very quickly. It's easily memorized.

It looks GREAT with self-striping yarn! Yarns I've used include Ella Rae Seasons, Red Heart Sweet Baby, and Premier Yarns Serenity Chunky Weight.

Here are pics of some of the ones I've made:

Another fun and easy one I do (although not as often) is The Little V-Stitch Blanket.

It looks great in cotton and is also very easily memorized. Solid colors with a contrasting border look best (in my opinion).

I call this one Violets in the Snow (Lion Brand Cotton-Ease in Violet and Snow colorways). Click on my project link to see the instructions for the modified border I used.
