Instagram may sell images WITHOUT Permission

Recommended Posts

If you use instagram to host your images, you may want to rethink the cost the "free"

If you have any concern about your IP, I suggest you read this and other coverages and then make some choices.

I don't use Instagram but I just heard on the news (listening to the tv as I am online) that Instagram has pulled back that idea and will not use photos in ads, at least as of now.

I wasn't sure if there would be a response by Instagram or not, just because it's now Facebook that controls the company and they're not exactly known for concern over the rights of content-creators OR concern about what their users want. I'm glad both that their original intentions weren't as bad as it looked (yes, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt there) AND that they're changing the TOS to remove any doubt about it.

It's great that people responded! If every time providers online step out of line people respond there would be a whole lot more respect for service users!
