Winding Yarn Question

Hey fellow crocheters!

I have a question about spinning yarn. Latly, I've seen some home wound yarn that looks very neat and put together, but I'm not sure what they use to get it to look like this. Any ideas? I want to buy a yarn winder, but I can't find one that will make it look like this.

Thank you!

That's a "cake" of yarn, and what you get from most ball winders I know of. Royal is one brand, and I have one I like very much. It attaches to a table for use, I would like to someday have one that can either be attached or held by hand, I have seen some of them advertised. You can also 'google' yarn ball winder and find instructions to make a homemade one.

I owuld sincerely doubt that the blue is "home wound" - The machines that achieve that degree of uniformity are usually only found in the mills. The Winding equipment for the wide flat ribbon yarns are usually purpose built and you might well be able to stock a yarn shop in yarn for what they cost
