Scoodie pattern for child

I was wanting to make scoodies for my friend's twin girls. I have not found any patterns for children, lots for adults. The closest I have found is more of a cowl than scarf. I wanted to do the scarf so that I could put pockets at the bottom. The only pattern I have is for adults and the pattern could be adjusted, but it's more like granny squares and I wanted something different.

Or Dot's? I made this one a few years ago and it was very easy to follow the pattern.

I would just take a 60 inch scarf pattern, adjust it to the length necessary for the girls (?? 48 inches??). After you finish it, make squares the same width and as high as you want them for their hands. It might be nice to tuck in a pair of fingerless gloves. They make up quickly. My granddaughters LOVE them.
