A.

I started out by holding it like B, but when I got used to the A way, that seemed much easier. More flexibility that way, somehow.

Closer to A, but I think I need an option C to show how I hold my hook.

I guess I crochet loosely, but then I'm always using such wildly different material from what is recommended in the pattern, :eek that I couldn't really say:think

I am curious. :think if the way we hold our hooks has anything to do with tension.

I am a B and I crochet from tight to tighter. :hook

So if when you answer the original question would you mention if you work tight or loose.

Hm, I think I do it quite loosely, the A way. But I don't always use the recommended yarn and hooks either, so I guess it depends more on that, really. But I definitely prefer making something that's loose, tight stuff can really make my fingers ache. :)

I originally answered B...here's the second half of the question...I crochet tight I think.

C: thumb extended more and hand closed more with the needle/hook in the first knuckle joint and a padded etension on the back end of the needle/hook.

but closest to B:

Well, actually I do both, but with different hands. I'm right-handed and use "A" with my right hand and "B" with my left. Works for me! :)

I'm an A :hook and I think I tend to crochet kind of loosely. I've been working on tightening up some, though.

I'm a B. And I crochet tight.... typically have to go up 2 hook sizes compared to the recommended size, but I'm working on loosening up a little and I think I've managed to get down to 1 size up.
