Crochet Helps Women Support Themselves

Interesting article in today's New York Times about an online start-up that is helping woman in Arab countries support themselves through craft endeavors. They specifically mention crochet.

 

Yes, they call crochet a form of knitting, but no bashing, please. To knit and to crochet may be the same word in Jordanian. And it's all about helping these women who have no other means of financial support to achieve some measure of financial independence. You could call it hogwash for all I care.
