Amigurumi Turtle

This is my very first pattern I've created and I wanted to share it. If there are any mistakes or confusing parts, let me know.

 

 

Turtle

 

Upper Shell

Ch. 2

Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc (12 sc)

Rnd 3: [sc inc, sc] around (18 sc)

Rnd 4: [sc inc, sc in next 2 sc] around (24 sc)

Rnd 5: [sc inc, sc in next 3 sc] around (30 sc)

Rnd 6: [sc inc, sc in next 4 sc] around (36 sc)

Rnd 7: [sc inc, sc in next 5 sc] around (42 sc)

Rnd 8: [sc inc, sc in next 6 sc] around (48 sc)

Rnd 9-16: sc around

Fasten off.

 

Bottom Shell

Ch. 2

Rnd 1-8: work as upper shell

 

Head/Neck

Ch. 2

Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc (12 sc)

Rnd 3: [sc inc, sc] around (18 sc)

Rnd 4: [sc inc, sc in next 2 sc] around (24 sc)

Rnd 5: [sc inc, sc in next 3 sc] around (30 sc)

Rnd 6-10: sc around

Rnd 11: [sc dec, sc in next 3 sc] around (24 sc)

*Attach eyes*

Rnd 12: [sc dec, sc in next 2 sc] around (18 sc)

Rnd 13: sc in next 6 sc, [sc dec] 6 times (12 sc)

Rnd 14-24: sc around

Fasten off.

 

Legs (make 4)

Ch. 2

Rnd 1: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc (16 sc)

Rnd 3-8: sc around

Fasten off.

 

Tail

Ch. 2

Rnd 1: 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc (8 sc)

Rnd 3-6: sc around

Rnd 7: [sc dec] around (4 sc)

Fasten off.

 

Assembly

Attach bottom shell to upper shell with hdc around. Stuff firmly.

Stuff head and neck firmly, sew across bottom of neck and sew neck to shell. Sewing the back of the head to the shell will keep the head from flopping forward.

Do not stuff tail. Sew tail to shell opposite neck.

Stuff each leg firmly and sew legs to bottom of shell.

Tie bow around neck, if desired.

The Ami Turtle is so very cute. I am going to make one for a new grand baby on the way! Thanks for sharing.
