Deck the Halls CAL

Recommended Posts

This woman clearly knows her snowflakes!!

...I really like snowflakes...can't you tell?:lol

I know! I'm always amazed at how she comes up with so many designs, one every week. They are not always delicate and lacy, but they are always very unique and pretty! She also has a snowflake CAL here on the 'ville.

I do but am yet to find patterns. I need to make stockings for my four kids, a Christmas banner which will be based of Lucy's from Attic 24, snowflakes for my roof, ornaments for the tree and an afghan for the lounge. I don't know if I want the afghan to be some kind of squares or a graphghan. I might go the squares because by the time I finish the graphghans for the kiddies for xmas I don't think I will want to see another for ages.

I love Lucy's work, the colors are so inspiring.

:nworthyI admire anyone with the patience to do a graphghan! I think that is one thing that I will never be able to bring myself to do. All those single crochets, and oy, the color changes... :reyes

This is what I really want to do....the "experienced" part makes me a little nervous. I love the lime green in it, makes me happy!

I love her KISS series, the reindeer is cute!! I am also thinking about the puppy pillow for a gift

I so could use a couple snowflake placemats AND white snowflakes would look very nice in the windows in the desert.....

Oh boy, I think my list just grew a little! LOL

That Snowflakes & Lace afghan has been on my to-do list since it first came out. I was really hoping to get to it this year.. I have the feeling it's not as hard as it seems... I wonder if it's rated Experienced because of the join-as-you-go?

We could do it as a CAL...

This looks like fun!

And where or where can I find a crochet advent calender pattern?!!! I have so been thinking about making one but had no idea there were really patterns out there!

There are actually a few out there. Crochet World had a large tree shaped one in their Dec 2011 issue, but the theme lately seems to be a garland type advent calendar. I've seen mini stockings, mittens, hats, stars, crocheted envelope/pockets, and more... here is a search I did on Ravelry, but I know there are more out there. Perhaps a search on google images will yield more/different results... http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#craft=crochet&query=advent&sort=best&view=captioned_thumbs

Oh, I want to join in!!! Growing up, we always made ceramic ornaments for Christmas, as I got older I went to cross stitch. I would love to crochet stuff for Christmas! I have no Christmas decorations at all!! Last Christmas I didn't decorate as I knew I had to start over! I am excited about this crochetalong!!!

When I did one of the kitchen swap, I got a snowflake washcloth pattern and some sparkly yarn, as well as she made one! I would love to top some Christmas towels, make some stockings for my nephews, etc!!!

Awesome, Welcome aboard Lisa! :hook

I remember seeing some sparkly Bernat Cotton last year at Joanns around the holiday season. I was so tempted, but I must have at least 50 dishcloths already made, plus I still have two of the large 14oz balls of Holly Jolly Print, so I just couldn't justify growing the stash. :lol

That's really neat! Never been big into the popcorn garland myself but if you were, that would be perfect!

BTW, HILARIOUS about the snowflakes! :rofl I can't believe I never saw that CAL until you mentioned it! Its a small world!

Yeah, I don't see myself ever making the garland, too many little pieces! But I did find it unique and interesting. Now if someone else were to make the popcorn pieces for me, I'd definitely string it... but that's not gonna happen! LOL

Oh, I was going through all the Christmas stuff on Pintrest for crochet and got all kinds of ideas!!!! I am so excited!

I do have a pattern, though, but it isn't crochet. Growing up we used to made the seed pearl like bead bells. I was at my dad's last Christmas and he still has them on the tree. I found the pattern and I think I am going to make so of those too!!! There may not be any presents under the tree (it's just me!), but I am going to make my home look festive!!!

I'm sure it is! I've done a few small graph projects, but mostly potholders and small items. I did do a tunisian baby blanket many years ago and cross stitched a design on it. That thing took me FOREVER to do! :rofl

I found this following a link from above.

I have to make one of these :crocheting

It's going to the top of my list. Even before an afghan. :wlol

Oh no way! That is adorable! Love love it! I might have to make that one!

I just saw a cute ornament, but I don't know how to post the link or if I can! It's called the Crocheter's Christmas Ornament and it is an archived pattern.

If it is archived (aka W*Y*a*k) you should not post it here. There are copyright issues with many of those.:hug Check with AmyS to be sure.

Are these the ones with the sequins? Can you post the link? My daughter was recently asking for something that sounds similar.

LOL. I saw this too. If I happen to make it, I will send you some "popcorn".:crocheting

I'll have to hold you to that! :rofl

No, it isn't sequins. Let me see if I can refind the pattern. I printed it out, hoping I still have it!

Is this it? http://priscillascrochet.net/free%20patterns/X%20Ornaments/Crocheters%20Christmas%20Ornament.pdf

Priscilla moved all of her patterns to a new website when the former host shut down. This is main page: http://www.priscillascrochet.net/freepatterns.html

Yes!!!!! That's it!!! I think this is adorable! I can't wait to make a bunch of them and give them out as Christmas presents. I hope to be able to do it for all the "hookers" and the Knitters in my life! I belong to a local group that is mostly knitters but there are a few hookers! :lol
