I was shopping at Michaels the other day and came across this funky yarn. I thought I would buy a couple skeins to try. It's interesting to work with. You will either like it or hate it, similar to Lion brand Homespun. (which I love)

Basic Yarn Information:

  • Fiber content 100 % polyester
  • Skein yardage/weight 3.5 ozs
  • Recommended hook size/gauge crochet N
  • How many ply? Super Bulky
  • Manufacturer's suggested retail price and/or actual price 4.99
  • Name and/or URL of store where you purchased yarn Michaels
  • Any other places you know of where yarn can be purchased Online

Care of Yarn:

  • Washing Machine washable and dryable
  • Drying
  • Any special requirements NO
  • How does yarn/project look/handle after being cleaned? Haven't washed yet
  • Did the color run when washed?

Yarn Characteristics:

  • How easy is it to crochet with? What about ripping out? It is similar to LB Homespun. It does not rip out easily at all
  • Any stretch? very little
  • Does it produce fuzz/lint? very little
  • Does it pill?
  • How does it wear?
  • How does it reflect light?
  • How does it look crocheted? It's different. No holes at all but it's really neat looking, sort of furry but not really. It's weird yarn
  • Are any other yarns similar or identical? none that I have ever seen.

Project Specifics:

  • What did you make with the yarn? I am making a preemie blanket

  • What hook size did you use? Wood crochet hook that I made so probably about an N
  • Are simple stitches best? How do complex stitches look? I've used a single, half double and double. It's hard to find where to put the hook in at first, but once you become accustomed to the yarn, it's easier.
  • Describe drape of finished project
  • What other types of projects would this yarn work well for?
  • Is there any project this yarn would not be suited for?

This yarn is kind of fun to work with. It's shaggy and I think the blanket will be interesting looking. You have to use a bigger hook, anything smaller than a "N" hook would not work well.
