Pineapples & Granny squares - luv 'em or hate 'em?

Recommended Posts

I like both. Pineapples are wonderful fun to crochet and FAST with all that chaining!

Grannies - hmmm. I love the look of them when the colors are good. They can be so beautifully subtle or vibrantly alive. But, yeah. The sewing. The weaving. I'm also ready to try some of the new joining techniques. When I make my own squares, I don't have the patience for all the color changes. I usually use solid colors with contrasting borders. I also did a crochet along on another forum with 12" pineapple squares. With the larger ones, the joining wasn't so painful. Since I do lapghans, about 36x48, 12" squares are perfect with a border and I could use color changes on those. So I'm keeping my eye out for the perfect pattern.

I would absolutely love to make the Realta pattern, but oh, all those color changes! The jury's still out on that one.
