Jacob's Snakes And Ladders blanket

Recommended Posts

I've been experimenting with the Jacob's Ladder technique lately, and this is one of the blankets I came up with.

The pictures show: the finished blanket, a close up of the front, a close up of the back, and what it looked like before I laddered it all up.

I'm still working on writing out the pattern (it should go out for testing soon... I hope!).

The yarn is scraps of Bernat Satin, about 2500 yards or so, if memory serves. I only used solids, I changed colours every row, and tried to move gradually through the rainbow, though there was one colour that looked purple when it was with the blues and looked blue when it was with the purples, and yet somehow didn't look like it fell between the two. Oh well!

The thing with Jacob's Ladders is that you don't do the braiding thing until the end, and so while I was making this I was really anxious to see what it would look like when it was done, so I worked on it basically every waking moment, stopping only to go to work, and it took me 8 days. ^_^
