will blocking this save me?

Hello everyone!

I have been working for the past month on a crochet thread (size 10)baby dress - specifically the skirt section. It is actually a rectangular section that is then seamed up the side.

What has happened, was I started out alot looser and it ended up being approx an inch or more shorter at the end due to crocheting tighter and tighter as I went along and I didn't even notice it until I finished the section:(

If I try and block the section will I be able to save myself from starting over?

With this being a "dress" is it different than a doily that you block retain shape?

:worried

Thanks in advance

Kay

It could. I would try blocking it before it's sewn together. It's really amazing how much blocking can cover.

If the seam is in the back you could even add a triangular piece and make it look like you did it on purpose.

Thank you RoseRed for you response.

I will try to block it and see how it does. This section is approx 2 feet long and starting over is not something I want to do if at all possible!:eek

Have a great day!

Kay
