There are lots of beautiful free patterns online. I usually google "doily patterns free" and it brings up more patterns than anyone could ever make in their lifetime. If you use the "image section" in google, it will show you pics that you can follow back to the patterns.

It's been suggested several times in other posts to you, if you poke around for an hour in Crochet Pattern Central, you can find patterns for just about anything, from beginner to advanced, with links to patterns of every item that's 'crochetable'. She has links to hundreds of online patterns, a great resource for us. I'm sure you'll find something that is just right for what you are looking for to fit your taste in clothing items, afghans, doilies, whatever. Use the search box there to narrow down the responses a bit.

Try Google or Crochet Pattern Central, only you know what your skill level or tastes in design are. I'm sure you'll find just what you are looking for with a bit of searching. Here ya go- http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/doilies.php

Part of the problem with recommending a pattern is that there are sooooooo many different styles of doilies and no one hear knows you well enough to know what to recommend. Personally, I have a thing for pineapple doilies - I just love them. Not everyone does.

This best advice I can give you is to look around. Crochet Pattern Central and Ravelry are incredible resources but they're not the only ones. Here's a few more for you to check out.

FreePatterns.com http://www.freepatterns.com/list.html?cat_id=312

CrochetMemories (store) http://www.crochetmemories.com/patterns/crochet-pineapple-doilies.php

123Stitch.com (awesome store- huge selection of patterns, pamphlets and books) http://www.123stitch.com/

and don't forget Etsy.com. Just type 'crochet doily pattern' into the search engine and you get 38 pages http://www.etsy.com/search/handmade?search_submit=&q=crochet+doily+pattern&view_type=gallery&ship_to=US&spelling_corrected=crochey+doily+pattern
