Priscilla Hewitt's "Velvet and Lace" Square

For those of you who are familiar with her designs, you'll understand why I was not able to resist making one. For those of you not familiar with her work, she also has several great tutorials about how to join motifs using a couple of different methods that are not the whip stitch. Here is my blog post about her work, and here is a photo of my rendition of her "Velvet and Lace" square:

Beautiful. Thanks for reminding me of Priscilla's wonderful square patterns. I think hers is the first crochet site I visited on the Web, and some of my favorite patterns are there. Matter of fact, I'm just about to make some of her Pineapple placemats for a friend.

As far as I am concerned, Priscilla is an unsung genius of crochet. She doesn't seem to seek out the crochet limelight, but her work is as wonderful as much of what is for sale.

 

Plus, for those who haven't tried her patterns you'd be hard put to find any ambiguities or errors in them.
