When shopping a couple months ago, I cam across a pretty, lacy, crochet-like vest-thing. Rather than buy it, I got it into my head that I'd crochet one. Alas! I can't find a similar pattern.

 

It doesn't help that it's hard to find a name to call it. Vest? Bolero? Wrap? It's been quite difficult to even find pictures of something similar, let alone a pattern. Here are the few I found:

I'd call them lace vests.

Thanks for the help. Lace vest does seem to be the best term.

 

I'm seeing some other similar ones now, though most of them are square in front. I really like how the others are rounded. If I were good at shaping I'd take a square one and try to round it. I'm good at following patterns, and I can make a few changes, but I haven't done much in clothing/shaping yet. Any suggestions?

Try circle vests. You'll see some with arms, just leave them off.
