Celaspun

misadventures

Recommended Posts

I searched it on this board and there was no mention, so I thought I would bring it up.

Last night I picked up a bin of old yarn from a neighbour. Pretty sure the contents belonged to a family member who maybe passed. It was a huge amount....including a fair amount of celaspun (about 16 skeins).

What are some projects I can use celaspun with? I am thinking of making cozies for our chair feet, sofa feet and bed frames. We just laid new hardwood and I worry about scratches :o|

But there is so much, I was thinking of dishcloths. My mum once gave me a knitted scrubby dishcloth - it was rough to the touch. And this celaspun feels very similar to that. Not exact, but could it be close enought o make dishcloths?

TIA

Andrea

Googling shows "phentex celaspun" is acrylic.

Acrylic doesn't absorb water well so isn't the best for wash / dish cloths, and might melt (will certainly get ugly fast, at least) if used as hot pads. Works great for scrubbies.

With that many skeins you could make hats and scarves for your whole family! An afghan maybe?
