That is so pretty.

I've been working on getting mine sewn together. It's a little frustrating it seems like none of the pieces are the same size. But it's looking ok.

Thank you :) My daughter can't wait until I get the border on it and give it to her.

I remember on the Bernat forums one of the admins saying that the motifs had the same stitch counts on each side. I kept laughing to myself when sewing them together because the counts don't match up right, lol. I guess I use different math. :think:lol But they really don't have the same number of stitches on each side from clue to clue.

Here's a layout I'm kind of playing around with using -

I still have two of the MC octagons to make from clue 6 (that I replaced with another octagon because I didn't like the pattern as written). I do like the Bernat layout, too. Hopefully I'll make a decision soon. I've been dragging my feet about making the last clue because I can't decide. :lol

I wonder if it's because you changed up the pattern on a few of them. All of mine have the same number of stiches on each side except the red squares since I didn't do the popcorn squares.

I weaved all of my ends in last night and I dedicated my morning (and afternoon!) to putting these together...and I have to say, I love how it turned out, but these motifs are SUCH a PAIN in the YOU-KNOW-WHAT to sew together!! :eek Just about every motif has a different number of stitches than the other (except when you are sewing two like-motifs together) so I pretty much just had to "frog" it as I went along to try and make it look as even as possible...the clue 5 octagons were the worst because they have more stitches than any other side, so I had to double up a lot more with those.

I do really like how it turned out though :manyheart I have decided to gift it to one of the original recipients I had in mind, and I'm just going to make a different baby girl afghan for the other one :hook Hope everyone else is doing well with their motifs joining!

Before joining and After joining:

Oh, shoot! I missed your post somehow. :blush Your afghan is gorgeous! :yes

The only motif that I changed is the last one. All the others I did as written. But because of the difference in chain stitches in the corners and the the chains on the sides of the granny the stitch number didn't match exactly. All my motifs had 12-13 stitches on the sides (not counting the corner chains) except the granny, the granny has 16 stitches/chains plus corners. But no biggie, they stitched together just fine.

I found the same thing, I was frustrated in my first row because I had to re-do it a few times to make sure I evened out my stitches, but then I knew what I was doing (I think :blush ) so the other rows went together fine :)

Thank you! I thought you changed more than just the one. Sorry about that. :) I haven't started stitching so I'm not really sure. I was eyeballing it and thought it was the same.

Unless it's just one round and there's another clue next week...or is this it for the clues?

At least this doesn't look too bad. I can catch up from last week and do the border easily, I figure.

If this is it for the border, I may ad lib and put a few more rows around in the contrasting colors... :think

:c9

This is the last clue. I may do something extra too. We'll see. I wonder if they are keeping it simple to see what people come up with? They did say that there would be contests in the next weeks. So maybe that is it?

I finished the sc border. I decided to just do that and call it good. My daughter was eager for it and I have two afghans that I would like to finish before the weather turns hot. I think it turned out pretty, still not my cup of tea but it looks nice. When taking a final photo my cat would not stay off of it, I think he thinks I made it for him, lol.

I'm disappointed with the border. When I saw it was just a row of sc, I thought, that's it??? I've got 9 motifs put together today and I'm going to put some thought into doing something else with my border.

I used a contrast color and did DC instead of sc, I like the border to define the piece not blend in as the MC would have done

and since there was so much time I used one of the clues to bake a Baby'ghan
