Dee - Feel better soon! :hug

You know, I think I'm going to swap out the brown color for green. I haven't made the clue 6 octagons yet anyway. I would only have to remake one of the little squares. At least that way I won't have brown flowers. Although, I'm not sure that the green would look right with my other colors. :sigh I've gotta figure this out tonight! :lol

I'm still pretty sick so I decided to use the layout posted and just start seaming. Hopefully it looks good when finished. I think that I liked another layout better, but then I would have to fudge the border too. I hope it's an outstanding border because sometimes that can make an afghan.

Now I'll back to my sniffling, blowing, non-stop coughing and sewing ;)

I can't wait to see what everyone else decided :)

I hope you feel better quickly :hug

That's a pretty good idea to bypass the brown flowers :idea

Oh no, I'm so torn (no pun intended)!! This TOTALLY screws up my plan to divide this afghan in two and make it into two afghans for babies :( But I REALLY like the layout!! I think I'm going to make it as it is and just whip up babyghans for the girlies...they're not due until July anyway :worried I actually really like the last color set because the flower colors are most similar to mine, but the blue background just makes it pop! Great job Bernat, you have redeemed yourself!! :cheer

Thank you for the get well wishes. I got 3 rows put together and then I went and crashed for a couple hours while my girlies watched a movie around me. Apparently while sleeping this bug has me making odd noised that my girls thought were so funny. :lol

Now I'm up and going to try to get some more put together.

I have to say it....I REALLY DISLIKE the layout! I think I'm going to go with one of the ones I saw on the website that someone else posted. I spent most of today trying to figure out what to do about my "baby" version that I ran short on yarn for. I think I figured it out though. Hopefully the edge won't be too wide or I'll run out again!!!

I haven't had time to lay it all out, but I'm going to give it a whirl tonight and see how it looks. Perhaps it makes sense once one sees the different motif patterns with the color layout...

Been working like crazy to get the squares done and put together :knit:knit I have gotten enough done to put the first two rows put together and have the other four of clue 1 to put the first bottom row put together.

Here are my first two rows:

I was sort of fried from giving blood yesterday, so I didn't get around to sewing the pieces together. I'm going to have to make an effort this weekend, so that I'm set for next Wednesday's clue!

Good job giving blood! I'm O neg and I always mean to do it but haven't actually done it. Shame on me.

I was able to get another row put together. I'm sewing the rows together as I make them so that I don't get confused, which I can easily get. I'm hoping today since I feel a little bit better to be able to get the last three rows done and the ends woven in.

Oh, no! You poor thing! I made the mistake of not eating enough ahead of time. I was very tired afterwards...

I didn't get it finished yesterday. My mother called and reminded me we were taking my Aunt out to lunch yesterday. Because it meant a trip into town I did errands that I needed to do once I got there. And once home I was too worn out and had too many coughing fits to work on it. So I am determined, today is the day, lol.

I weaved all of my ends in last night and I dedicated my morning (and afternoon!) to putting these together...and I have to say, I love how it turned out, but these motifs are SUCH a PAIN in the YOU-KNOW-WHAT to sew together!! :eek Just about every motif has a different number of stitches than the other (except when you are sewing two like-motifs together) so I pretty much just had to "frog" it as I went along to try and make it look as even as possible...the clue 5 octagons were the worst because they have more stitches than any other side, so I had to double up a lot more with those.

I do really like how it turned out though :manyheart I have decided to gift it to one of the original recipients I had in mind, and I'm just going to make a different baby girl afghan for the other one :hook Hope everyone else is doing well with their motifs joining!

I love the layout and only have 2 of my green (would be flower) 6th clue. I know I have more than enough yarn to switch my B and D colors. I guess I'll be doing the 4th clue over again too. LoL!!! Oh, well, I love the flowers. This was the one out of the ideas that came out last week that I fell in love with. I decided to use this one if I didn't like the official layout. I guess I can always use the 2 clue 6 octagons and 12 clue 4 squares in pillows.... hmmm...

:eek I am so behind! Even with the off week we had last week I didn't get anything done. I'm finally done with clue 5, but only have 1 1/2 of clue 6 done.

Not sure that I really like this afghan, but I'm sure I can find someone who likes it. Definitely not one I would have chosen had I seen a picture of the final outcome.

Back to finishing the last octagons so I can sew them together.Hopefully wont be too far behind come Wednesday for the clues on the border! :crocheting

I have to say, the layout is growing on me, now that I'm seaming everything together. I put together the contrasting color motifs first, and now I'm doing the main color motifs.

I made one goof, though...I put one of the popcorn squares in the wrong spot! I'm going to have to fix it. :eek

Mine is all seamed and has the ends woven in. I tried to take a pic but when I uploaded it it was all blurry :think I'll get another picture taken once the children wake up :)

I still have to start on mine. DH and I got home late last night from Ohio, and we have so much to do today and tomorrow. I've also been working on another afghan and I'm almost done with it. Not sure if I'm going to finish it first, or start put the CAL together.

I love your colors, it looks great :manyheart

I'm not quite half way with my joining. I worked on it Friday night and last night a bit too. Because of my color choices, I decided to keep my 'cluster flowers' monotone and put the same color in the center. I also changed up the placement of the main color octagons, but they are all still in the main color places :think I hope that makes sense :lol
